Stem length is a heavily debated topic, and comes down to personal preference. The key is to feel balanced and comfortable on your bike. Modern bike geometry tends toward longer reaches, which plays well with shorter stems, so we offer the Loam Stem in 32mm and 40mm options. If you want a bit more weight over the bars to lengthen out that cockpit, and help on climbs, go with that 40mm. If you like a shorter cockpit, and to pick up that front up a bit more easily, go with the 32mm.
The Loam stem has a 0º rise.
The stack height of the Loam Stem is 38mm.
Yes. We recommend reading both the Loam stem and your handlebar manufacturer’s installation instructions before installing carbon handlebars.
This is a “No Gap” stem, we find these stems are the easiest to install and offer the most reliable performance. Please read our installation manual for installation instructions.
If you are using carbon handlebars you may need to use friction paste. Consult your handlebar manufacturer’s installation manual.
A 50mm option is in development, stay tuned!
In general, anodized finishes will not fade, however, if exposed to UV light or direct sunlight for long periods, the color may start to diminish.
