MSRY BIKES // HARDTAILS ARE INFINITE

This stunner of a hand-built hardtail, the MSRY Bikes Silver Bullet, was built by PNW Components Product Developer Cole Kersey.

Cole helps us develop rock-solid components while also handling the majority of dropper post repairs that come through our service department. When he’s not wrenching or prototyping, you can probably find him out riding on the MSRY frames he’s built by hand. Last year, he raced nearly every cyclocross event in Northern California and took on the Downieville Classic single speed. Over the past two cyclocross seasons, he’s claimed the overall single speed title in all three NorCal series, and landed 3rd in the XC race at Downieville. Safe to say - these bikes slap.

Since he’s a wizard on the trail and in the garage, we wanted to ask Cole a few questions about his mysterious MSRY Bikes.

  • How long have you been frame building for?

    • I’ve been building frames for a little over a year, finished my first frame in April of 2024. Think I have 9 frames built so far, so definitely still new to it.

  • Where did you learn?

    • I learned everything right in my garage with some help from internet forums and a few YouTube videos. No frame building school or anything like that.

  • Why did you build this bike/What do you do with it??

    • I built the Silver Bullet because I wanted a longer travel/slacker hardtail that goes downhill a bit better. I had previously built a shorter travel XC style hardtail and wanted something a bit rowdier. I pretty much ride everything on it, trails, shuttles, dirt jumps, gravel cruises, beer runs, maybe bike packing someday?? Hardtails are infinite haha.

  • Any plans to sell your frames/bikes in the future?

    • No short-term plan to sell frames. At the moment, I’m just really enjoying building frames for myself, and occasionally I’ll build for friends. Just learning and improving as I go. Maybe someday MSRY Bikes will be a real thing, but for now, it’s just my made-up bike company!
